The meeting was pretty much a lovefest. Soon enough our membership will grow so big we won’t know each other as well as we do now.
This knowledge made it all the sweeter to join together with our comrades in arms to take these necessary steps to create a new major party. A new party that is committed to listening to and fighting for everyday Washingtonians.
The Results of PPOW’s Initial Organizing Meeting
A) The PPOW members democratically selected – drum roll, please!
- Marc Mixon as our State Chair
- Jamin Mason as our State Vice-Chair
- Rebecca McNeill as our Administrative Officer
We also ratified (ie, agreed) what had previously been approved by the PPOW membership.
B) Our Standing Committee Chairs
- Media & Messaging: Betsy Czark, Chair. Shannon Skinner, Vice-Chair
- Platform & Policy: Jim Lee, Chair. John Paul Parikh, Vice-Chair
- Admin & Development: Rebecca McNeill, Chair. Veda Stram, Vice-Chair
- Organizing & Outreach: Shelby Schroder, Chair. Jamin Mason, Vice-Chair
- Governance: Marc Mixon, Chair. Timothy Zahn, Vice-Chair.

C) Our Bylaws
We also ratified our bylaws. All political parties are required by State law to create bylaws. You can think of our bylaws as an operating manual for PPOW.
