Platform Backstory
As you may have heard, Movement for a People’s Party (MPP) adopted an Interim Platform back in March 2018. It was based on Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign platform.
However, MPP’s Interim Platform is NOT the People’s Party of Washington‘s Platform.
PPOW is developing our own platform that addresses the unique needs and desires of our Washington state membership. If you would like to help develop our platform, volunteer today.
Platform Aspirations
PPOW’s platform will:
- Honor and uphold PPOW’s values and guiding principles
- Respect the voices of all our Washington members
- Focus on policies that the majority of member want enacted.
- Reinforce that PPOW is not Left or Right, but Fed Up. That PPOW members have had enough of politicitans whose words do not match their actions, who do not do what their constituents want done.
Platform Timing & Vote
PPOW volunteers (aka working members) are actively developing the draft platform right now.
Once the Platform is approved by the working members, it will be presented to all PPOW members.
The final approval vote will happen at our founding convention. All PPOW members will be eligible to vote on the Platform.
